The Sand Springs Police Department announced today that they have a new tools available for citizens that is associated with the city's new web site. Deputy Chief of Police Mike Carter said, "We are very excited at the new ways our citizens can communicate with the department". Among these tools, are a crime tip form, speed trailer request form, watch order request and the ability to sign up for different notification tools.
Notification tools that are available include a new sign-up section for Blackboard Connect (Emergency Phone Notification) which allows citizens to personalize the notifications to their tastes. A person may want to sign up for Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, but not Flash Flood Warnings. Also citizens may sign up for crime notifications related to their area through the crimereports.com web site which is linked on the department's web page. Sex offender information and weapon carry information is also available on the site.
"We look forward to the opportunity to keep improving this site and our relations with our citizens. Contact information is available on the site and if citizens have specific ideas, they should certainly let us know" Carter said.
The new web site went live on May 9th, 2013.
