[ARCHIVED] Free Disposal at Landfill Part of Fall 2013 Care Day

Does your garage or shed need cleaning out? Do you have an old appliance that needs to go away? Are your tree limbs piling up? Load all that stuff up along with those recyclables; it’s time to CARE again for Sand Springs!

Residents receiving City refuse service can CARE (Cleaning and Recycling Efforts) for their community by picking up, trimming up and cleaning up their individual properties without disposal costs on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Free disposal of bulky trash items will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the American Environmental Landfill for residents who receive City of Sand Springs refuse service. Just bring a current City utility bill that shows residential refuse service and dump your loads at no cost. Free tree limb and brush chipping is also available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to residential refuse customers at the City Street Division facility. And, free recycling is available to everyone at the local MET Recycling Depot.

The American Environmental Landfill is located on 177th West Ave, one mile north of the Sand Springs Expressway (US 412). The Street Division facility is located at 8620 W 21st St, next to the Animal Shelter. Residents should properly secure their loads while transporting them to prevent debris from blowing out.

The MET Recycling Depot is located at 105 E Morrow Rd and is attended from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The gates are open for drop-off service at other times.
